5 Tips for a Holly, Jolly & Productive Holiday

Holidays – they’re time for family, friends and maybe the occasional eggnog, but they also are one of the busiest times of the year.

Even though it’s a busy time of year, employee levels drop by 52 percent between mid-December and the New Year. Here are five tips to keep your team productive this holiday season.

Don’t be a Grinch. Embrace the holiday spirit at the office. Getting into the holiday spirit will increase productivity, and when you’re having fun, your tasks get done quicker.

Chamber tip: One way to spread holiday cheer is to sing loud for all to hear… or you can just listen. Spread cheer in the office with the best holiday songs of all time.

Take advantage of the “silent” day. Office closures increase during the holiday season. Take advantage of the quite hours and knock off the items on your to-do list that have been lingering.

Chamber tip: If you’re a nonprofit that needs help crossing off a project on your to-do list, submit a project proposal to partner with Impact Denver by Friday, Dec. 21.

Make a list and check it twice. Plan ahead – look back at the problems that you encountered last year during the holidays and make a game plan.

Chamber tip: Have an idea, but not sure how to make it into an actionable plan? Visit the Denver Metro Small Business Development Center for help planning for your business needs at any stage.

Don’t forget to exercise. Keep up your exercise routines during the holidays. Regular exercise keeps you energized throughout the day and reduces stress.
