DENVER, CO – January 8, 2026. Denver is bracing for an economic touchdown. With the Broncos returning to the NFL playoffs as the No.1 seed in the AFC, the City and County of Denver is positioned to capture a massive wave of one-time revenue that ripples far beyond the stadium gates. A report released today by the Metro Denver EDC forecasts a potential $60.4 million boost to the region, proving that a winning season on the field is a winning season for Colorado’s bottom line.

Key report takeaways include:

  • Combined, the Divisional Round and AFC Championship games could produce approximately $60.4 million in total economic activity for the City and County of Denver.
  • Event-related spending associated with the two games would support approximately 380 full- and part-time jobs, with impacts concentrated in lodging, food services, transportation, and retail sectors.
  • Spending related to Broncos playoff games has a multiplicative effect on Denver’s economy. For every dollar spent directly in connection with playoff activity, an estimated $1.60 in total economic activity is generated as local businesses purchase goods and services, and employees spend their earnings within the city.

“When Denver hosts major sporting events like the Broncos playoff games, the impact extends far beyond the stadium,” says Senior Economist and Director of Economic Competitiveness for the Denver Metro Chamber, Hanna Scovill. “Two Broncos playoff games would drive an estimated $60.4 million in economic activity for the City and County of Denver, energizing local businesses and supporting hundreds of local workers.”

“We are so excited to celebrate our Chamber member the Denver Broncos being the No. 1 seed in the AFC,” says President and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber, J. J. Ament. “Not only does this create an amazing sense of pride and camaraderie in our community; it generates tens of millions of dollars in local economic activity, supports hundreds of jobs, and showcases our city on a national stage. We can’t wait to cheer on our team here in Denver!”
