The rapid pace of technology – in particular artificial intelligence and automation – is changing how humans work, and what tasks they’ll take on. Dell Technologies estimates that 85 percent of jobs that will exist in 2030 haven’t been invented yet. Small business leaders and entrepreneurs will talk about how they can stay ahead of the curve at State of Small Business on Nov. 7.

WHAT: State of Small Business, presented by the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Denver Metro Small Business Development Center in partnership with the University of Colorado Denver Business School, gives 300 of Colorado’s entrepreneurs and business leaders insight into hot topics in the region’s small business community.

WHO: Patty Silverstein, president and chief economist of Development Research Partners, will discuss key economic trends, particularly for businesses with less than 100 people.  

Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kelly Brough will be joined by three tech experts to talk about how AI and automation can be used by businesses of all sizes, and the rapidly changing tech landscape. Panelists include:

  • Bill Sinclair, chief technology officer and interim president and CEO of SALT Blockchain Financial Technology
  • Mark Spiecker, president of STAQ Pharm
  • Frank Trevino, AI and digital transformation and engagement for Tinman Kinetics

The Chamber and the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at the University of Colorado Denver Business School will also award the fourth annual Bill Daniels Ethical Leader of the Year Award to Greg Anton, chairman and CEO of ACM.
