We have an exciting year ahead of us, and I cannot be more thrilled to have Ruth Rohs as chair of the Leadership Foundation’s board of directors.

Serving as vice president of corporate communications for the IMA Financial Group, Inc. and executive director of the IMA Foundation, Ruth has been a force in our community and truly embodies Colorado’s Civic DNA™. Ruth has had a significant impact on the Leadership Foundation. She has served on our board since 2013 and has participated in Colorado Experience, Leadership Denver and Leadership Exchange trips.

“The Leadership Foundation consists of the most amazing people in town. I look forward to working closely with them to maintain the awesome momentum of Colorado’s Civic DNA, create new funding streams and celebrate the diversity of perspectives we bring together in our programs and on the board,” Ruth said.

Moving to Colorado in 1994, Ruth started her career in the nonprofit sector, where she realized how inclusive our community is: “Our business community is so welcoming – you raise your hand and you get called on.” Everyone no matter where they come from has an opportunity to roll up their sleeves and make an impact – Ruth did just that.

On top of being involved with the Leadership Foundation, Ruth serves on the boards of B:CIVIC, Colorado Association of Funders and the Denver Public Schools Foundation.

Ruth and our board have made a commitment to supporting future leaders by growing our Emerging Leaders Scholarship Fund this year. Will you consider joining them by making a contribution? Our scholarship fund removes financial barriers to ensure leaders from all backgrounds and industries can be empowered to build their skills and make an impact in Colorado. We appreciate your commitment to develop civic leaders within our state.

Over the last year we launched a new skills-based leadership program Colorado’s Civic DNA Fellows and tackled 26 community projects through our Impact Denver and Leadership Denver classes. We couldn’t have done so without the support of our board. Thank you to Tara Dunn, president of HighMark Law, for your leadership this past year along with our entire board, and I can’t wait to see what the 2018-19 board of directors tackles this year. Stay tuned!

Meet our 2018-19 Board of Directors

Dan Lewis is the executive director for the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation.
