Strategies for solving challenges related to the top five business issues—water, education, energy, transportation along Interstate 70 and engaging independent voters—were shared by Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce leadership at the Chamber’s 130th annual meeting this afternoon.
“
We have to come together as a community today to tackle some of the toughest issues we face,” said Chamber President and CEO Kelly Brough. “We are committed to finding solutions—innovative, outside the box solutions—that keep this region on track.”
Leadership also reflected on the past year, with outgoing Chamber board of directors chair Donna Lynne, executive vice president for the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, passing the gavel to incoming chair Bob Deibel, president and owner of OfficeScapes.
“Preserving and growing a healthy, stable business climate starts right here,” Deibel said, adding that the key pillars of the Chamber—education, health and infrastructure—will continue to guide the Chamber’s work.

Bill Lindsay Receives Del Hock Lifetime Achievement Award
The Chamber honored a member who has made a significant impact on the business community during his career, recognizing Bill Lindsay with the Del Hock Lifetime Achievement Award. Lindsay, president of Lockton Benefit Group—Mountain West, is known locally and nationally for his expertise in health care and insurance. He currently serves on the Colorado Commission on Affordable Health Care. He also offers his time as chair of the board for Craig Hospital and sits on the boards for Children’s Hospital Colorado and the Rose Community Foundation. Lindsay served as chair of the Chamber board of directors from 2010-11.
“I’m completely humbled,” Lindsay said, adding that Hock has been a life-long mentor. “Del Hock is a tremendous leader in this community. He was unselfish with his contributions and just to be mentioned in the same (breath) is incredibly humbling.”
New Board Members Welcomed
The Chamber also welcomed new board members, who include: Bruce Alexander, president and CEO of Vectra Bank; Rebecca Chopp, chancellor of the University of Denver; Taryn Edwards, vice president of Saunders Construction, Inc.; Noel Ginsburg, CEO of Intertech Medical and Intertech Plastics; Mowa Haile, president and CEO of Sky Blue Builders, LLC; Phil Kalin, president and CEO of Pinnacol Assurance; Brendan McGuire, vice president of government relations for Vail Resorts; Mark Spiecker, CEO of Sharklet Technologies, Inc.; Craig Umbaugh, partner of Hogan Lovells US LLP; Travis Webb, managing partner of BKD, LLP; and Steve Whiteside, asset manager for ConocoPhillips.
