General Purpose:

Associate Director of Dental combines clinical care and administrative leadership positions. The Associate Director of Dental is a healthcare provider who serves as:  

  • A clinical counterpart to Dental Business Operation, as well as to the Medical/Nursing team’s clinical and operational leadership and Behavioral Health clinical and operational leadership, helping balance the delivery of whole-person care with creating and maintaining a productive and meaningful work environment.
  • A supervisor and mentor to the other healthcare providers working in the health centers assigned to them. 
  • A liaison between the Executive Leadership and STRIDE’s dental providers and staff. 
  • A STRIDE dental care-delivery expert who engages in and brings this perspective into projects and agency initiatives that impact or involve STRIDE’s dental services.


This ADD position is assigned 0.3 Admin FTE (12 hours /week) & minimum of 0.7 FTE (28 hours of patient care/week). These administrative and clinic hours are subject to change based on future business needs. Additionally, the ADD may be asked to cover the clinic during administrative time as needed to cover staffing shortages


Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities:

  • Must promote whole-person care across our healthcare delivery system.
  • Demonstrates strong local leadership, particularly amongst all clinical dental provider staff at Peoria, Delmar, and future dental site(s) under direct supervision.  
  • Understands and follows patient and organizational confidentiality related to sharing and releasing information to the health center and non-leadership staff and discloses information accordingly.
  • Collaborates with all departments to support the organizational mission, vision, and strategic plan. 
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, stability, and support to all direct reports and internal partners.
  • Appreciates the need to balance mission and margin within our healthcare delivery system. 
  • Attends Weekly Triad meeting at Wheat Ridge.   


Patient Care:

  • Provides direct oral health care services to patients, as per oral health provider job description within their own provider discipline.
  • Acts as a role model for other providers. 
  • Must provide highly efficient and high-quality clinical care, meeting or exceeding STRIDE’s productivity targets.
  • Must be highly efficient with STRIDE’s EHR system.


Administrative:

  • Serves as a leader in the oral health department by providing supervision and guidance to oral health providers.
  • As a member of local health center leadership, collaborates closely with Operations, Medical/Nursing, and Behavioral Health teams daily to evaluate and balance health center clinical and support staff needs and helps to ensure successful day-to-day clinical functions and quality care.
  • Participates in organizing provider chart review process and drives other initiatives for process and quality improvement/assurance at the health center, amongst staff.
  • Participates in continuing oral health education seminars, workshops, and research literature review.
  • Knowledgeable about standards of care, ensure STRIDE’s clinical practice meets those standards and helps maintain clinical guidelines and documents alongside other dental leadership. 
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings, Triad meetings, and all other meetings as assigned. Provides a framework and participates, as necessary, in meetings with direct reports.
  • Regularly meet with oral health providers at assigned health centers to provide support. Maintains an open-door policy with team members and encourages feedback from staff on any logistical issues or concerns.
  • Maintains clear lines of communication with local clinic operations, with direct reports, and with medical, nursing, and behavioral health leadership.
  • Monitors provider productivity and participates in budget planning and review of responsible clinic location(s).
  • Ensure dental provider team’s productivity and efficiency, as well as to evaluate dental clinical quality, using data to drive decisions and strategies for quality assurance (QA) and quality improvement (QI).
  • Orientation, education, and training (assisted by Operations and Human Resources (HR) of new dental providers, including electronic dental record (EDR) training.
  • Management of dental outreach activities and medical and dental integration in coordination with other management team members.
  • Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.
  • Participates in continuing education courses for most current dental industry information.


Salary

$153,400/yr - $173,200/yr
