Judi’s House/JAG Institute

Judi’s House/JAG Institute is a nonprofit dedicated to helping children and families navigate the profound journey of grief after the death of a loved one. Since 2002, they’ve provided evidence-based grief care programs at no charge to foster healing, resilience, and hope in a safe, supportive environment.

What sets Judi’s House apart is their holistic approach, combining peer and family support with the expertise of trained clinicians—a rare model in the field of grief care. They also extend their impact beyond their walls by going into schools to educate children about grief and bereavement, breaking down the stigma and societal barriers that often prevent open conversations about death.

Through their research and training arm, the JAG Institute, they advance the understanding of childhood bereavement and equip communities nationwide to support grieving families. Far from being a place of sadness, Judi’s House is a beacon of joy, healing, and hope, transforming grief into resilience and impacting thousands of lives each year. Their work reminds us that even in the face of loss, there is light—and they are leading the way in helping families find it.

Project Angel Heart

Project Angel Heart is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Coloradans living with severe illnesses through the power of nutritious, medically tailored meals. For more than 30 years, they have addressed a critical challenge: ensuring that individuals who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves have access to the food they need to heal and regain strength from the safety of their home.

Each week, their professional chefs and registered dietitians prepare thousands of delicious, scratch-made meals tailored to meet the specific medical and dietary needs of their clients. With the help of dedicated volunteers, these meals are delivered at no cost, providing not just nourishment but also hope and comfort.

The impact is profound—clients report better health, reduced stress, and improved energy, along with lower healthcare costs and hospital readmission rates. Project Angel Heart’s commitment to sustainability, led by their Green Team, further underscores their dedication to creating a healthier future for both their clients and the planet.

Through their innovative ‘Food is Medicine’ approach, Project Angel Heart is transforming lives, one meal at a time, and advocating for a future where all Coloradans have access to the nutrition they need to thrive.

Warren Village

Warren Village is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering low-income, single-parent families to achieve sustainable personal and economic self-sufficiency. Since 1974, Warren Village has provided a supportive community where families can access affordable housing, quality childcare, and comprehensive programs focused on education, career development, and financial stability.

Through their innovative two-generation approach, they equip both parents and children with the tools to break the cycle of poverty and build brighter futures. Recently, Warren Village expanded its impact with the opening of a new campus in southwest Denver, adding 89 homes and enhanced learning services to serve even more families.

With a proven track record of success, Warren Village has helped over 8,700 families transition to independence, creating lasting change in the Denver community. Their commitment to growth and innovation ensures that more families than ever have the opportunity to thrive.
