My Final Thoughts as B:CIVIC's Executive Director

It's time. Tomorrow will be my official last day as Executive Director of B:CIVIC, a partner of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation.

B:CIVIC was founded on the principle that we can do more good together. Passionate leaders and purpose-driven companies thrive in an ecosystem that elevates business for good – for all.

Over the last 5 years, it has been an absolute joy to work with the B:CIVIC community as both a board volunteer and staff member.

Since joining the Leadership Foundation in 2018, we have grown roots and amplified our impact through the power of partnership. We have nearly doubled our reach, engagement and investments, thanks to your support and the incredible leadership of our board and volunteer committees.

More importantly, together, we have created opportunities to tell your story to inspire others, deepen your strategy, collaborate for broader impact and to support you in moving from commitment to action.

Chris Jarvis, our 2018 Summit keynote, reminded us, that the rewards of volunteering are immense: social connection, belonging to a cause larger than ourselves, empathy to understand the challenges we seek to solve, agency to act and skill-building for more effective impact. Check, check, check. For me, volunteering also became a pathway to serving as the Executive Director of B:CIVIC, a journey for which I am deeply grateful.

Connecting everyday with leaders who care so deeply about their employees, their community and pioneering positive impact for their companies has seeded my passion and purpose. As I transition to focus on a social enterprise that aligns both, purpose and passion, I look forward to continuing to learn from this extraordinary community. See you all soon!

With Gratitude,

Kirsten Vermulen

A New Investor Model for B:CIVIC

Since 2014, B:CIVIC has been growing an ecosystem where companies are better equipped to address both community and social issues that are critical in Colorado. Learn about the impact we made together in 2022.

We’ve transformed our membership model to offer more access and choice through our new investor model. Within this model, current members can continue engaging at their investment levels or choose to increase their investment for more exposure and benefits, new organizations can invest to uplift CSR in Colorado, and individuals can find more opportunities to engage and gain access to CSR best practices.

Thank you for ensuring a sustainable future for B:CIVIC to continue building an informed and inspired socially responsible community for all of Colorado.
