Our 2022 Business Awards Presented by BOK Financial is coming up on April 29. Join the celebration of the 17 finalist organizations in our community, with the winners announced live at the luncheon. This signature event highlights local businesses in the following six categories: disruptor, large nonprofit, woman or BIPOC-owned, small business, small nonprofit and start-up. New this year, the community vote gives you a say in which businesses are declared winners. Be sure vote in each category by March 16! Register to attend.

You’re invited to the 33rd Annual Colorado Business Hall of Fame on May 3. In partnership with Junior Achievement, this black-tie event honors the legends of the business community in Colorado by inducting them into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame. Join us as we honor our 2022 laureates: Robert L. Albin, Clara Brown, Tim Gill, Robert Newman, Nancy and Curt Richardson, and Donald L. Sturm. Proceeds from the event support the work of Junior Achievement and the Chamber. Register for the event.

On May 12, join us at State of the State to hear from keynote speaker Gov. Jared Polis and prominent community business leaders as they review the outcomes of this legislative session. With so much change occuring in the workplace, a top priority for the legislature in 2022 has been to develop a powerful workforce that meets the needs of tomorrow’s economy. Legislators introduced many bills covering topics from fair chance hiring and COVID-19 mandates to incentive-based traffic reduction programs and flexible education and training programs. Register to hear Gov. Polis’ address.

Leadership Foundation Events
The Meet the Finalists Panel on March 16 is your chance to get up close and personal with the 9NEWS Leader of the Year finalists! We are thrilled to share the stories of three inspiring leaders: Janine Davidson, president of Metropolitan State University of Denver; Michael Niyompong, vice president and chief engagement officer of Mental Health Center of Denver; Lydia Prado, executive director of Lifespan Local. We will hold a moderated conversation with a reception immediately following so you can learn more about each leader’s journey, leadership approach and community impact. Register for this complimentary event.

After you’ve learned all about the 9NEWS Leader of the Year finalists, join us at the Leading Colorado luncheon on April 6. This annual Leadership Foundation event recognizes exceptional community leadership — while providing a bit of healthy drama — by announcing the 9NEWS Leader of the Year live and honoring the Student Leader of the Year. All ticket proceeds support the Leadership Foundation’s Leading Colorado Scholarship Fund, ensuring people from all sectors can participate in our leadership programs and enhance their individual impact in the community. Register for this signature event.

Prosper CO Update
The Denver Metro Chamber’s Prosper CO initiative has created Compass, a diversity-benchmark tool to help employers reflect and analyze their workplace’s diversity. As the Harvard Business Review suggests, Compass provides Colorado organizations the opportunity to compare their workforce data to the region’s diversity datalike to create awareness about the diversity of your workforce.

The goal of Compass is to help organizations create goals for the future and form an action plan to support better pay for their employees. By joining Compass and increasing your workplace transparency, you will attract a more diverse workforce and help Prosper CO expand its data to eventually compare by size of company or industry. Email Lorena Zimmer to learn more about how Compass can impact your workplace today!

Looking for more ways to positively impact diversity and best workplace practices? Take our Prosper CO Top 10 Survey to help us learn what our members are practicing.
