Recent State and Local Action on COVID-19

Get more information on the COVID-19 related public health and executive orders released by the State of Colorado and Metro Area Counties.

City of Denver: With the Delta variant  surging, Denver has issued new public health orders requiring pre-K through 12th-grade students to wear masks at school and requiring city employees and some private-sector workers in high-risk settings to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.   • Most up-to-date CDC Guidelines on the Delta Variant: On July 27, 2021, CDC released updated guidance on the need for urgently increasing COVID-19 vaccination coverage and a recommendation for everyone in areas of substantial or high transmission to wear a mask in public indoor places, even if they are fully vaccinated.

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s site: General information about COVID-19, overview of federal guidelines, protection, prevention and treatment information and resources related to travel, business and education.
  • Government Response to Coronavirus, COVID-19: Connects to FEMA and CDC; provides information about travel, immigration and tax policies; and offers insight into education, health and safety, housing, business and fraud resources.

Business Support

  • Help Power the Comeback: The state of Colorado is asking businesses to help Power the Comeback this summer by supporting employees who want to be vaccinated and promoting policies for COVID-safe workplaces. Vaccines are Colorado’s key to a future after the pandemic. After vaccination, Coloradans can go back to enjoying the things we like again safely. This is how we return to a more normal life.   • Find out how your business can help: The Innovation Response Team (IRT) Task Force is partnering with the private sector to develop innovative ways to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. If you are a private sector company that wants to partner with the IRT, visit HelpColoradoNow.org.
  • Lend a hand through CSR: Businesses are leading and supporting during COVID-19. Find best practices and tools that your organization can use on B:CIVIC’s resource page.
  • Support local restaurants:
    • VISIT DENVER’S ToGoDenver.com  can help you find some of the Denver metro area’s best restaurants that are ready to serve up delicious food for carryout, curbside or delivery service.
    • Restaurants in Denver are also now open for dine-in service. Check out 5280 Magazine’s list of dine-in restaurants and see the State of Colorado’s guidelines for safe dining.

Donate

  • Donate to your community: Hosted by the State of Colorado and Mile High United Way, the Colorado COVID Relief Fund provides support to Colorado communities and organizations affected by the recent outbreak of COVID-19. Donate today.
  • Donate blood: Blood banks around the state are concerned about shortages. Check out locations near you to donate blood.
  • Donate your computers: The Governor’s office has partnered with PCs for People to provide a way for companies and individuals to donate their used laptops and desktops to be utilized for low-cost purchases for school districts and charter schools. Donate your electronics.

Volunteer

  • Find out where you can volunteer: Mile High United Way is in need of volunteers to support our community. Check out their website for ways to get involved.

  • Volunteer with The Salvation Army: Find out how you can volunteer to support COVID-19 response and recovery across the State of Colorado.
  • Volunteer your professional services through Energize Colorado: From providing business advice and mentorship to pro-bono mental health services, see if there’s a good fit for your expertise on their website.
  • Provide Free Legal Relief: If you are a lawyer interested in helping small businesses with COVID-19 related issues, volunteer today with Colorado COVID Relief.
