Founded in 1988 Tryba Architects’ portfolio reflects an abiding commitment to context, scale, quality urbanism and sustainable practice. Much of our work has focused on the integration of significant modernist buildings into larger civic complexes. For two decades our practice has focused on the prudent re-adaptation of land, buildings and infrastructure into new systems and places. Tryba Architects promotes the ideal that successful modern urbanism re-establishes key connections between people and their built and natural environments, their culture, their past and the future. Two influences guide our work: Modern Urbanism – The deliberate weaving together of the historical and the innovative, the simple and the complex, the natural and the human-made. Our work seeks to recognize how the past and the present offer the opportunity to renew awareness of ourselves and our surroundings. Preservation – The recovery of a civic sense of place through enriched public understanding of social, cultural and architectural precedent in order to build sustainable communities and conserve and enhance urban neighborhoods and systems. Tryba Architects was awarded the American Institute of Architects 2007 AIA Western Mountain Region Firm of the Year, 2004 Colorado Firm of the Year and the 2003 Denver Firm of the Year. In 2006 Tryba Architects was recognized by the Greater Denver Chamber of Commerce as Small Business of the Year for leadership and commitment to the region.
