This past spring, the legislature passed SB24-233 in a good faith effort to address these issues. However, while better than no action at all, the Chamber’s position has always been that SB24-233 missed the mark in meeting the needs of both residential property owners and our business community – especially small businesses that are the backbone of Colorado’s economy.

Working and communicating with both sides of this issue since May leads us to believe that a legislative compromise is now within reach. Organizers of the proposed ballot measures will agree to withdraw 108 and 50 if the legislature adopts a reasonable compromise.

We are inviting our members to join the Chamber in renewing our call for a special legislative session to provide needed property tax relief.
