New Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce board of directors chair Bob Deibel sat down with us to share 25 fun facts that Chamber members may not know about him.
- If I were stuck on a desert island and could only bring one thing, it would have to be Tom Clark—he’d figure out how to get a direct flight out.
- If I could have dinner with anyone in history, I would invite Paul McCartney and Babe Ruth.
- Every morning I get in an early workout at Greenwood Athletic Club and then head off to my first meeting of the day.
- I was born in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights, Illinois.
- My high school mascot was a Lambkin. (And proud of it!)
- I studied political science at Colorado College.
- Rams or Buffs? I’m conflicted. I grew up in Fort Collins, but had season tickets for the Buffs for years. OK, fine, if I have to choose: Buffs.
- My favorite subject in school was classical humanities.
- Growing up, my dream job was to be either a professional athlete or a high school teacher.
- My first job was breakin’ birds (trust me, you don’t want to know) at Kentucky Fried Chicken.
- My favorite drummers are Keith Moon from The Who and Danny Seraphine, the original drummer for the Chicago Transit Authority.
- My favorite band is Little Feat.
- Right now I’m listening to “Copperhead Road” by Steve Earle.
- My favorite movie is “Top Gun.”
- I took five years of French in high school.
- My favorite thing to do on Saturday is start it off with an 8:30 a.m. golf tee time.
- My favorite fourteeners are Mount Evans and Pikes Peak—you can cycle to the top of both.
- My favorite golf course is Pebble Beach.
- Skiing or snowboarding? Skiing.
- My favorite restaurant is my sister’s: Upstairs on the Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Dine in or takeout? Dine in.
- Pizza or ice cream? Pizza.
- I’m not really a morning bird or a night owl. I prefer a sunset cocktail—best part of the day.
- My favorite park is Fenway Park.
- My favorite app is Which Wich Ordering. You can have a sandwich ready to pick up in five minutes.
