The Colorado Energy Coalition, an industry affiliate of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp. (Metro Denver EDC), is pleased to announce its second-annual Colorado Energy Expo, to be held at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Wednesday, May 13. The event showcases Colorado’s position at the forefront of responsible energy development including solar, wind, oil, coal, natural gas, and more.
“Our first Energy Expo was a success, and we’ve learned that there’s a curiosity about technology, jobs, and seeing how energy as a whole fits into our economy,” said Pam Reichert, vice president of Metro Denver EDC. “In effect, this is ‘one-stop shopping’ for everything you want to know about energy as a business or as a career.”
Throughout the day, an Energy Industry Speaker Series will bring together leaders from various backgrounds to discuss the innovations, policies and discoveries driving their industries and answer questions about how Colorado can continue to be a leader for responsible energy development. High school students from throughout the region will participate in a new career development program at this year’s expo. Education and industry leaders will share how students can get plugged into these exciting careers in energy. The exhibition floor will be open from 8 to 10 a.m. for students to meet with companies. Career path discussions will take place at 8:15 and 9:15 a.m.
“There was a tremendous turnout by the public for the expo’s first year which highlights the importance of the topic of energy to the local community,” said John Armstrong, CEO of Enserca, a presenting sponsor of the expo. “We appreciate the opportunity to support the Colorado Energy Coalition as it engages the public on relevant and exciting topics from the energy industry and how Colorado continues to emerge as the balanced energy capital of the West.”
Presented by the Colorado Energy Coalition and Enserca, the Expo is free and open to the public. It will provide an opportunity to engage with the companies that power our state and shape our world. Attendees can participate in hands-on demonstrations, experience emerging technologies firsthand, speak with a variety of energy leaders, explore new career opportunities and learn about the challenges and opportunities Colorado’s energy industry faces. A happy hour reception concludes the day’s events and further expands networking opportunities.
Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities for the expo are available. To learn more about the Colorado Energy Expo and to register, visit COEnergyExpo.org.
