The Colorado Water Conservation Board presented the state’s first water plan with Gov. John Hickenlooper today. The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Colorado Competitive Council have provided comments on behalf of the business community and over the past year conducted eight meetings around the state to get the business community talking about water.
“Today marks an important milestone in a long journey to find collaborative, pragmatic solutions that will address Colorado’s future water needs. The planners recognized there is no silver bullet to facing this challenge and take a holistic, all-of-the-above approach,” said Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kelly Brough. “I applaud the Colorado Water Conservation Board for leading a truly collaborative process that took feedback from business and the broader community and integrated it into the plan. Today we not only celebrate this accomplishment but we also enter a new phase in managing our water resources: putting this plan into action.”
