Governor to reflect on session close at State of the State

Panel to discuss health care, Amendment 69 in Colorado

Less than 48 hours after the legislative session comes to a close, Gov. John Hickenlooper will reflect on the 2016 session of the Colorado General Assembly to an audience of more than 600 metro area business leaders. The event, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the State luncheon, will take place on Friday.

WHAT: The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce’s State of the State luncheon is an opportunity for hundreds of business leaders to be among the first to hear from the governor following the close of the Colorado General Assembly.

WHO: Gov. John Hickenlooper will share his assessment of the just-concluded legislative session—the work accomplished and the work still to be done—and discuss upcoming priorities and tough issues faced by our state.

Chamber President and CEO Kelly Brough will moderate a panel on health care and Amendment 69. The panel will feature Children’s Hospital Colorado Chief Administrative Officer Michelle Lucero, Colorado Health Institute’s President and CEO Michele Lueck and Sharklet Technologies CEO Mark Spiecker.

The Chamber will also announce the recipient of its third annual Robert Blankenship Heart Award, named in memory of Blankenship, the former chief operating officer of the Chamber and a steward of the business community.
