Putting their focus on community issues into action, young professionals in the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation’s Impact Denver class will help 10 organizations with community impact projects.
Impact Denver is one of the Leadership Foundation’s six programs aimed at building strong community-minded leaders. Participants get an introduction to civic and business issues, learn from local leaders and experts and volunteer in the community over six months.
This year the class selected the following community organizations: Denver Public Schools, Groundwork Denver, Junior Achievement, Mpowered, Sun Valley Youth Center, Swallow Hill Music, Bluff Lake Nature Center, ECDC African Community Center, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Denver Opportunity Youth Initiative, and Denver Preschool Program. Community projects will be completed in June.
“This is a great opportunity for these passionate, civic minded leaders to channel what they’re learning and talking about during Impact Denver into a real-life project,” said Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation Executive Director Dan Lewis. “Their work strengthens the community and often creates long-term relationships between our participants and these community organizations, making their support even more impactful.”
