Rewarder of crime-stoppers. Victory garden planters. National park boosters. Over its 150 years, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce has been focused on more than just business: it’s focused on building a great community.
Working with the Denver Public Library, the Chamber will unveil an exhibit of that history in celebration of its 150th anniversary this year – and its sometimes-surprising role in the community – on Tuesday, April 11.
WHAT: To celebrate 150 years as an organization, the Chamber has partnered with the Denver Public Library to host an exhibit, which runs through October. Learn how the organization started with a group of concerned businessmen who wanted to ensure Denver was not passed over by the transcontinental railroad and see how its continued to invest in the community ever since.
WHEN: Special kick-off reception begins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11. General exhibit viewing for Chamber members begins at 5:30 p.m. Members of the public may view the exhibit through the end of October.
WHERE: Denver Public Library, 10 W. 14th Ave. Parkway, seventh floor
WHO: Denver Metro Chamber President and CEO Kelly Brough will be available to reporters for interviews.
SOCIAL: Follow the conversation @DenChamber and with #dmcc150.
Reporters please confirm your attendance to the kick-off reception with Sara Crocker at sara.crocker@denverchamber.org. Please note cameras are welcome. Visuals will include large-format historic photography, newspaper articles and artifacts.
