Innovation drives the work that AT&T, RK and Teatulia Organic Teas does, both for their employees and in the communities where they work. This year’s finalists remained dedicated to having a positive impact and devising creative solutions to problems facing businesses and communities today. The Denver Metro Chamber is pleased to introduce the finalists for the 2021 Business Awards Disruptors of the Year award.

AT&T has aimed to innovate since their inception and has become the fastest LTE wireless network in Denver, Boulder, Aurora and the nation. In 2019, AT&T Colorado launched Believe Denver, an employee initiative designed to raise awareness and generate support around youth issues and suicide prevention in Colorado. Connecting AT&T employees with local nonprofits to create opportunities to engage at-risk youth and improve the overall well-being of youth in Colorado. By combining first-class service through their LTE wireless network and excellent opportunities for their employees to give back to the community, AT&T continues to disrupt their industry and communities.

RK offers a diverse array of construction, manufacturing and service solutions all in one place. Providing a path for their employees to thrive in both their careers and their personal lives is an integral reason that RK established the RK Foundation. The foundation allocates grant funding and supports employee volunteerism. RK is also dedicated to providing professional pathways through their RK Apprenticeship Workforce Development Program, a four-year program that allows employees to and develop professionally. RK ensures their employees have many pathways to develop and grow. By increasing these pathways, RK disrupts the route employees have to take to grow in their careers, increasing opportunities across the company.

Teatulia Organic Teas brings 100% organic, direct-sourced teas from a previously unknown growing region in Bangladesh to the United States. Founded on the principle of doing things better, Teatulia has innovated by utilizing sustainable packaging, sourcing from a Fair Trade Certified regenerative tea garden and leading the way as a Certified B Corporation in Denver. Teatulia strives to lead by example, encouraging other businesses to make positive changes and impact the greater good of the community. The Teatulia Cooperative, or Kazi Shahid Foundation (KSF) began as a dairy cooperative to support the organic tea garden and now offers innovative education, health and cattle-lending programs for Bangladeshi families.

Each year, the Chamber recognizes organizations that are writing Denver’s next chapter in business. Join us for the virtual 2021 Business Awards presented by BOK Financial on April 14, 2021.
