DENVER—UCHealth, Colorado’s innovative nonprofit health care system, is expanding its engagement at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce as a new Trustee, joining 15 other organizations at the Trustee level and above as the Chamber’s largest investors. While every Chamber member is committed to community stewardship and supporting economic empowerment for every Coloradan, Trustees underwrite the work and missions of the organization: policy, economic empowerment and leadership development.
“UCHealth is pleased to join the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce as the newest Trustee,” said Elizabeth B. Concordia, president and CEO of UCHealth. “We are committed to supporting the communities we serve by improving access to affordable, high quality care as well as providing programs aimed at preventing serious medical conditions, addressing social determinants of health, advancing medical research and treatments, and expanding our state’s health care workforce.”
UCHealth includes 30,000 employees, 12 acute care hospitals and hundreds of physicians across Colorado, southern Wyoming and western Nebraska. In the past year, more than 2.7 million patients received care at a UCHealth facility. UCHealth is recognized by the Lown Institute as one of the nation’s best health care systems in social responsibility, community benefit, value and patient outcomes.
As UCHealth provides significant benefits for communities throughout Denver and the state, the health care system has also focused on reducing health care costs and partnering with insurance companies and employers to make health insurance premiums more affordable for everyone. In addition, UCHealth has recently launched Ready. Set. CO, a statewide initiative to encourage Coloradoans to take steps to improve their health. UCHealth is partnering more than 40 local and national companies, sharing resources to help with healthy eating, fitness, mental health and more.
“The Chamber is so excited to welcome UCHealth as one of our newest Trustees,” said president and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, J. J. Ament. “UCHealth’s nationally recognized hospitals, clinics and health care providers help Coloradans stay healthy and happy. They are also integral to our region’s economy – and companies from around the world are making investments in Colorado because of the quality of research and innovation being driven by UCHealth. The Chamber works for the economic empowerment of every Coloradan, and UCHealth’s continued contributions to the community are essential in achieving that goal. We are grateful they have a leadership role at the Denver Metro Chamber.”
The Chamber thanks UCHealth not only for its investment with us, but for its commitment to Colorado.
