Our Global Vision

We talk a lot about the importance of creating more opportunities for our businesses to engage on a global level. We have a number of companies doing business around the world, because expanding our customer base and creating new partnerships provide more stability than when we rely solely on local markets. A key strategy to that expansion has been focusing on increasing the number of international flights at Denver International Airport, but there are other efforts that really support that global vision, through events like the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and the Biennial of the Americas.

The Biennial, which kicks off on July 14, is a place to meet leaders, innovators and artists from across the Americas. Started back in 2010, the Biennial is a reminder of the important ties we have in the Western Hemisphere and in the global economy. It’s no surprise that Canada and Mexico are among our most important trading partners and the countries that are the top consumers of Colorado exports.

But the Biennial also works to shine a light on Denver and all that we have to offer. In addition to some great discussions, you can enjoy the tastes, languages, music and art of our friends from the Americas and our region. The Biennial doesn’t only engage the right side of the brain through arts and culture, but also provides forums for dialogue on business opportunities and some of the most challenging issues we face in business—no matter where you call home in the Americas. You can learn more about the Biennial here, and we’re exploring our region’s arts and culture offerings and how Colorado businesses export in our summer issue of Business Altitude, coming out at the end of this month.
