We Are Broncos Country

We are Broncos Country. And, last night the rest of the world saw what we already knew—the greatest football team calls Denver home.

You all know that we have had our share of wins these past few years with our economic rankings, but last night’s win has to be one of the most fun. The Broncos delivered a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers, but what we should all be most proud of is that they played like a team, they relied on every member for the win, they didn’t dwell on each other’s mistakes and they showed heart, perseverance and tenacity. Similar to our economic wins, that hard work paid off.

We can’t wait to celebrate tomorrow afternoon downtown. The parade will kick off at noon in front of Denver Union Station at 17th and Wynkoop streets. Show your support and pride for all the players, the Bowlen family, John Elway and coach Gary Kubiak and come down to Civic Center Park, where there will be live music and lots of celebrating. Click here for full details and the parade map.

There were plenty of friendly wagers leading up to the Super Bowl. I think I most enjoyed seeing Charlotte Regional Partnership CEO Ronnie Bryant lip sync to “Rocky Mountain High” to make good on his bet with Tom Clark, CEO of our affiliate Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation.  I will soon have a case of beer myself compliments of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

I can’t talk about the Super Bowl without talking about the commercials. We all have our favorites, (who didn’t smile at the Heinz commercial with the dachshunds dressed as hot dogs?) but I personally loved seeing a great Colorado company step into the Super Bowl spotlight. Arrow Electronics reminded viewers what an innovative company they are, and they put a local video production company on the map—Chamber member Elevation Digital Media produced that commercial. We couldn’t be more proud of our Chamber members including the Denver Broncos Football Club.

Congratulations to the Broncos. We look forward to celebrating with you tomorrow.

Kelly Brough is president and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.
