Denver Metro Chamber celebrates first African-American board chair, 150th anniversary at Annual Meeting

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and nearly 1,000 business leaders will welcome Denise Burgess as the organization’s first African-American to chair the board of directors at its 133rd annual meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

WHAT: The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting.

WHO: Outgoing Chamber board of directors Chair Todd Munson, executive vice president and director of commercial banking for Vectra Bank, will pass the gavel to the Chamber’s first African-American chair, Denise Burgess, CEO of Burgess Services.

Chamber President and CEO Kelly Brough will reflect on the Chamber’s 150th anniversary, share priorities of the business community for the coming year and announce the winner of the Del Hock Lifetime Achievement Award—a member who has made a significant impact in the business community throughout the course of his or her career.

Nationally renowned speaker Byron Reese – CEO of Knowingly, tech trailblazer, author and inventor – will keynote the event.

WHEN: Networking from 11 to 11:30 a.m.; program from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
